Market Risks in Norwegian Non-Sheltered Industries

The effects of risks associated with future net revenues on the evaluation of hypothetical investment projects in 41 industries are analyzed. A risk correction for the expected net revenue is identified and split into attitude towards risk and size of risk. The objective of the paper is to estimate the size of the risk connected with net revenues under two alternative assumptions, namely that the risks are borne by either a private investor or the government. In Ahe latter case, the project's correlation with other projects is taken into account. It is still found that the risks borne by the government are negligible.
