The Impact of Federal Transfer Programs on the Nutrient Intake of Elderly Individuals
分析老年人营养素摄入的决定因素,重点研究食品券计划等转移支付项目对老年人营养行为的影响,为未来转移政策设计提供参考。
In this paper we analyze the determinants of elderly nutrient intake. Our focus is on the impact of food assistance and income transfer programs, particularly the Food Stamp Program (FSP). Our statistical analysis is of a model with endogenous FSP participation and nutrient intake decisions. The insights gained regarding the effects on the behavior of the elderly caused by interactions among FSP, Supplemental Security Income, Social Security, and elderly feeding programs should prove useful in designing future transfer policies.
