On Regional Effects of Government Policies in a Small Open Economy
A regionalized version of a disequilibrium model of a small open economy is used to study how different regional disequilibrium situations affect the shortrun impacts of government policies. Production of goods in one region is assumed to be constrained due to lack of labor, while there is unemployment in the other region due to lack of effective demand (so-called Keynesian unemployment). The impacts of government policies are analyzed under both flexible and fixed exchange rates.
