Economic Strategies for Coevolution: Timber and Butterflies in Mexico
回顾了共同演化概念并构建了一个模型,将缓冲区经济活动的选址、规模和时间与生物多样性指数联系起来,用于评估墨西哥帝王蝶保护区不同木材采伐率的影响。
The concept of coevolution is reviewed and a model is developed in an attempt to make the concept operational. The location, scale, and timing of economic activities in a buffer zone to a park or preserve are related to an index of biodiversity. Coevolution would occur if a trajectory of activities would in turn result in "acceptable" trajectories for net revenue and the index of biodiversity. The concept and model is used to evaluate alternative rates of timber harvest from the monarch butterfly preserves in Mexico.
