MAINTENANCE STRATEGY FOR MUNICIPAL BUILDINGS FROM THE VIEWPOINT OF FACILITY MANAGEMENT

Maintenance of property is an important cost factor which ensures the durability of a building and its availability. The appreciation of regular maintenance measures is often missing. In the article the general tasks of the maintenance and the principles of maintenance strategies are worked out from the viewpoint of facility management. By a case study of municipal buildings the approaches of professional maintenance are shown. The solution introduced has led to a reduction of the necessary costs and also to preservation or an improvement of functionality. It has made possible for large cost safety and medium and long‐term planning of the expenses.
