What Japan Learned from the U.S.— That We Forgot to Remember

Twenty-five years ago, the U.S. had an active foreign aid program designed to build up Japanese industry. Japanese managers came to the U.S., observed what was being done, and adapted many ideas and practices for use in Japan. It is time for American business to take a look at what the Japanese observed and learned and apply it to the improvement of private sector management today.
