Abstract

Executive Overview This case describes an ethical dilemma between a university professor, acting as a private consultant, and his client, an entrepreneur and important alumnus of the university. The case illustrates how professional standards, personal needs, competing loyalties, contradictory information, and unreasonable time pressures make ethical decision-making both difficult and ambiguous for entrepreneurs and consultants alike.
