Dissent in organizations is not always tolerated and is rarely encouraged. Lack of dissent can lead to managerial miscalculations and major strategic and tactical errors. In this article, I examine the use of countervailing views in religious, government, and business organizations, and across cultural lines, as a means of improving management decision making.
