The article discusses research pertaining to the impact of boardroom dynamics on corporate governance. Researchers identified five attributes of effective boards. They are knowledge, information, power, rewards, and opportunity/time. The study showed that board process had an important relationship to board effectiveness and corporate performance. This was found to be even more important than board structure. There were positive correlations between constructive board behaviors and corporate performance. Experts say boards need to have open, challenging interchange between directors and the chief executive officers (CEO).
