Abstract

The article reports on a study pertaining to the impact of gender diversity on firm performance. The researchers examined how firm performance varied with the percent of female employees employed in the company. The research indicated that there was an overall positive effect of female participation on firm performance. Firm performance increased with female participation up to a maximum of 50% and decreased after that. As the percentage of women in a firm increased, so did profitability. Profitability was highest at intermediate levels of female representation.
