Despite considerable experience and academic research, the proper evaluation of lease agreements is still debated by both financial managers and academics. In the following paper, H. Martin Weingartner offers some further suggestions for practical lease analysis. At the Editor's invitation, Roger Cason and Lawrence Schall have commented on Professor Weingartner's suggestions from the perspective of a practicing financial manager and an academic, respectively. These are followed by Professor Weingartner's rejoinder.
