Trade policy reform and performance in manufacturing: Mexico 1975–881
研究了墨西哥1980年代中期以来贸易自由化对制造业效率的影响,发现自由化对绩效有正面但较弱的效果。
This article examines the impact of the major trade liberalisation that has been introduced in Mexico since the mid‐1980s on efficiency in the manufacturing sector. Alternative indicators of efficiency are estimated and changes in these indicators are explained by regression analysis, including various measures of the degree of liberalisation. The conclusion is that thus far liberalisation has had a positive, but relatively weak effect on performance.
