The article discusses a study of management practices in India, Mexico, Poland, and the United States, in which researchers examined important aspects of the relationship between culture and management practices. The researchers believe that the management practices of empowerment and continuous improvement may be particularly sensitive to practice-culture fit. The data for the study were collected from employees of a U.S.-based multinational company specializing in light manufacturing. The practice of empowerment was initially expected to be received better within cultures endorsing individual equality.
