The shifting geography of competitive advantage: clusters, networks and firms
研究以F1赛车行业59年数据为例,分析竞争优势如何在地区和企业网络间转移,发现孤立企业也能受益并贡献于集群知识,为跨国公司调整区位与知识策略提供启示。
We consider the dynamics of knowledge-based sources of advantage as they move \nbetween geographical locations and multinational and other firm level networks \nusing the specialist context of Formula 1 motor over a 59-year period. We \nsuggest that shifts in competitive advantage are underpinned by the movement of \nboth architectural and component knowledge at both the firm and cluster level, \nand in particular we suggest that isolated firms can both benefit from and add \nto cluster level knowledge. We conclude by suggesting ways in which MNEs can \nadapt their approach to both location and knowledge development in order to \nenhance their ability to create competitive advantage.
