The impact of accession on agricultural incomes in Greece

This paper provides estimates of the impact of Greece's accession to the EC on internal agricultural incomes. Two sources of change are considered Changes via the market and changes via the budget. It has been found that entry has increased net agricultural prices by around 5%, but has not affected either the volume of agricultural production or the size of direct subsidies received by farmers. Entry must have improved agricultural incomes in the country, therefore, though not substantially.
