Farmers' Goals: Uni‐ or Multi‐Dimensional?

Common goal measurement techniques implicitly assume farmers order goals on a unidimensional hierarchy. Multidimensional scaling (MDS) is proposed as an alternative conceptualization and scaling procedure. MDS scalings of farmers' goals were more consistent than with other methods. Riskgrowth, monetary vs. non-monetary and wishfulness-practicality continuums were three dimensions identified.
