Should Mainland Chinese be rewarded the way Americans are?
研究比较了中国大陆和美国员工对激励奖励的偏好,发现中国人支持不平等分配,而美国人偏好平等分配,挑战了集体主义与个人主义的文化刻板印象。
The article reports on research conducted by Chao C. Chen of Rutgers University, which compared the preferences of Mainland Chinese and American employees concerning incentive rewards. Cultural stereotypes of the collectivist Chinese and individualistic Americans did not prove to be accurate. Chinese employees supported the idea of unequal distribution of financial and socioemotional rewards, while American employees chose an egalitarian distribution of rewards. The questionnaire was distributed in three state-owned organizations in China, including a petroleum company. The companies in the United States included a tool maker and a gas company.
