Short‐Term Leasing, Resource Allocation, and Crop‐Share Tenancy
Abstract This paper develops a model of crop‐share tenancy to demonstrate that a policy of short‐term leasing which enables the landlord to evict a tenant whose performance is not satisfactory may ensure a desired intensity of cultivation of crop‐share land even when the tenant is free to choose the amounts of both crop‐share land and nonland inputs.
