Abstract

Much remains to be learned about knowledge creation, but the book “Knowledge Creation: A Source of Value,” edited by George von Krogh, Ikujiro Nonaka and Toshihiro Nishiguchi, addresses this gap by offering a state-of-the-art collection of contributions on the subject of knowledge creation within and between firms. The book is composed of eight papers selected from those presented at the Second International Conference on the Comparative Study of Knowledge Creation, organized by the Knowledge Source at the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland, in June 1998—a gathering aimed at better understanding the process of knowledge creation. About fifty academics and managers from three continents attended the conference. The articles are authored by academics from that population.
