The article reports on a study of chief executive officers and organizational vision in the United States. Research by Laurie Larwood of the University of Nevada at Reno, Cecilia M. Falbe of the State University of New York at Albany, Mark P. Kriger of the Norwegian School of Management, and Paul Miesing of the State University of New York at Albany found that executives' vision statements contain complex strategic planning and indicate a willingness to communicate with others. Executives included ideas such as innovative realism, risk propensity, and profit-orientation. Executive types include the individualistic, conservative group and a systematic, action-oriented group.
