The double whammy of globalization: Differing country and foreign partner cultures
研究了双重文化适应如何影响企业进入外国市场的成功,发现东道国文化与本国文化越相似,企业越容易成功,而依赖独立外国代理学习文化反而导致双重文化适应问题。
The article discusses research that examined the effect of double-layered acculturation on the foreign entry success of firms. The author notes that such acculturation increases the cost of entry and reduces the barriers of learning the culture of one's country. The research indicated that the success of the entry is associated with the similarity of the host country's culture to the company's domestic culture. A firm's success is represented on how it expands its foreign ventures incrementally. Moreover, the firm's reliance of an independent foreign export agent in order to learn about the country's culture, results in a situation of double-layered acculturation.
