A ray-homothetic production frontier and efficiency: grain farms in Southern Illinois
利用射线齐次生产前沿分析伊利诺伊州谷物农场的技术效率,发现农场平均产出仅为潜在产出的82%,且技术效率与农场规模及自有土地比例负相关。
A ray-homothetic production frontier is utilized to analyze the technical efficiency of a sample of Illinois grain farms. This functional form allows returns to scale to vary with both output and factor intensity. The results indicate that the farms were, on average, producing 82 percent of their potential output. Technical efficiency was found to be negatively related to farm size and the percent of operated land owned by the farmer. Coauthors are Steven Kraft, Carl Pasurka, and Hassan Y. Aly.
