Once More unto the System

It is argued that the concept of “system” is poorly conceptualized largely because of its definitional roots in set theory. Starting from the viewpoint of dimensional analysis, several heuristics to guide the identification and mapping of systems are presented and a theoretical solution to determining system boundaries is outlined.
