Abstract

The article reports on research concerning social dynamics, managerial values, and the impact of religion in Iranian culture, in light of the Islamic Revolution in 1979. The study, which used a survey-based approach, focused on outer- and inner-directed values, the collectivistic and individualistic work orientations of Iranian managers, and social factors that influence work values. Conformist behavior appears to be valued by managers. The study was conducted by Abbas Ali of the Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Mirahmad Amirshahi of the Industrial Management Institute in Tehran.
