Analysis of future change in Dutch arable farming: A farm economics approach

In the present article a model system is presented to analyse agricultural change at farm and regional level. The core of the system is a linear program-ming (LP) model of the individual farm which includes an environmental component of the input and discharge of nitrogen and pesticides. Modules representing feedback within and between family farms were added to the LP model. Application is presented for scenario analysis of future arable farming in a specific region of the Netherlands.
