The Effects of Strategy Type on Strategy Implementation Actions

It is widely accepted that different strategies need to be implemented in different ways. The strategy style match model assumes personality is the primary determinant of strategy implementation actions. It is argued that such an approach is inadequate because it ignores the effect of context on behavior. The study demonstrates that strategic context influences managers' espoused strategy implementation intentions. The implications for the management of human resources in strategic change are discussed.
