The interaction of fertility and size distribution of income: A comment

This article discusses weaknesses both theoretical and statistical in the simultaneous model in the pioneering study on interaction of fertility and size distribution of income done in 1978 by Repetto. While not disputing Repettos hypothesis of a positive relationship between inequality of income and fertility the author notes that because of the deficiencies which he has identified policy makers in underdeveloped countries would be unwise to utilize information derived from Repettos model.
