Presidential Address: Does Finance Benefit Society?
学术界认为金融带来的好处远超社会大众的认知，这种认知失调部分源于学术界低估了缺乏规则时金融易沦为寻租活动。本文从研究和教育角度提出金融学者如何促进好金融、减少坏金融。
ABSTRACT Academics’ view of the benefits of finance vastly exceeds societal perception. This dissonance is at least partly explained by an underappreciation by academia of how, without proper rules, finance can easily degenerate into a rent‐seeking activity. I outline what finance academics can do, from a research point of view and from an educational point of view, to promote good finance and minimize the bad.
