Abstract

The article discusses the problems associated with business leaderships that either micromanage or lack motivation. Particular attention is given to a study conducted by researchers at the University of Bergen on bosses who rule in a laissez-faire manner. The author defines laissez-faire leaders as those who avoid their assigned managerial duties, including failing to initiate any structure for the employees, making no effort to show any consideration for their workers' well being, and making no effort to maintain motivation and morale.
