Social Network Interaction Among Older Adults: Implications for Life Satisfaction
通过对74名老年人深度访谈,发现他们普遍不与社会隔离,但人际互动并不必然提升生活满意度,否定了关于老年疏离和充实的两种迷思。
In-depth interviews were conducted with older adults to ascertain the importance of social relations for life satisfaction. Probability sampling techniques yielded 74 respondents. The findings indicate that older adults are generally not isolatedfrom others, and that life satisfaction is not necessarily enhanced by interpersonal interaction. Two myths of aging, those concerning alienation and enrichment are thereby not supported.
