Asymmetries in the Union Wage Premium in Ghana
利用加纳雇主-雇员匹配数据,采用分位数回归方法,发现工会化对低薪正式部门工人的工资溢价更明显,但无法确定因果关系。
The article uses a matched \n employer-employee data set for Ghana and adopts a quantile \n regression approach that allows the effects of unionization \n to vary across the conditional wage distribution. It is \n shown that if there are intrafirm differences in \n unionization, there does appear to be a premium among poorer \n paid workers in the formal sector. Although this cannot be \n given a causal interpretation, it suggests important issues \n about how unions may affect one part of the labor market.
