The structure of the demand for the work force in the Lodz Region

In this paper we present the results of the analysis of the demand for the work force in Lodz Region (located in central Poland) in 2007 on the basis of job offers placed in the local supplement „Praca” (The Job) to the daily newspaper “Gazeta Wyborcza”. Research is supported in the final section by some findings of additional questionnaire survey. This analysis delivers information about general and specialized job offers placed by employers looking for the new staff. Our research focuses on identification of various qualification requirements, i.e.: education, specific professional experience, skills in foreign languages, computer skills, soft skills 2 and others i.e. driving license.
