The Process of Retiring: Organizational Entry in Reverse

Almost ten million Americans are approaching retirement age, yet the management and industrial psychology literature shows little concern about retirement. Our studies indicate that many concepts regarding organizational entry are pertinent to retirement. We discuss the limitations of present research on retirement as well as the implications of work on organizational entry processes for the study of retirement.
