Abstract

The article focuses on research into the effectiveness of teams in the workplace when employees and management are trained in the use of teams. The article states that research concerning work teams suggests that there is a learning curve for work teams and that the teams may require time and training before they become cohesive and productive units. It mentions that the decision-making authority given to the teams was greater than traditional quality circles but less than that of semiautonomous work groups.
