Abstract

The lack of consistent findings on the satisfaction performance relationship is explained as an aggregation problem. I suggest that specific attitude measures should be related to specific job behaviors, while general satisfaction measures should be related to the favorableness or unfavorableness of an individual's total set of work-related behaviors.
