The Journal of Applied Econometrics invites requests for funding towards the costs of organising conferences which are intended as a forum for disseminating research in applied econometrics. As part of its remit to publish high quality articles dealing with the application of existing and innovative econometric techniques to a wide variety of applied problems, the Journal would like to solicit applications for financial support of conferences. In most cases the Journal anticipates that it will provide partial funding of up to US$5000. A successful application will, in general, be based upon a conference designed to attract experts in their respective fields. There are no geographical restrictions. It is expected that the conference will attract delegates from both domestic and international institutions. The hope is that the grant will be used to help young researchers to present their work at conferences rather than to support travelling expenses for keynote speakers. Funds are granted on the condition that the contribution is acknowledged in the conference programme and publicity material and in any published proceedings which follow. We would also request that the conference web site is linked to the Journal of Applied Econometrics web site. Successful applicants will be asked to encourage submission of papers to regular issues of the Journal. In some instances grants may be linked to special issues. Requests are invited from all areas of specialization. A committee consisting of the Editor, Co-editors, and Assistant Editor will evaluate all requests on a quarterly basis in February, May, August, and November.
