The South African Qualifications Authority has commenced with setting up processes to develop policy and criteria for recognising professional bodies and registering professional designations on the NQF. As has always been the case throughout NQF development and implementation, this will take place in consultation with principals and stakeholders, including statutory and non-statutory professional bodies including MASA, as well as the two existing qualifications councils, Umalusi and the CHE, and until the QCTO is operational, its line department.
