This article investigates the question of the essence, principles of information support and information provision of strategic management. Strategic governance as part of the overall process of governance has signs of primacy and priority in the state, as it provides overall strategic direction of construction management process to achieve public purposes by the Constitution and meet social and economic interests. Only strategic government should identify current trends and methods of public administration, its organization, enforcement tasks and directions for its improvement. If we consider the facts that information is a strategic resource, it should be noted that the production, storage and use of information for supporting of strategic management is becoming increasingly important. The significant increase information flows in society is an objective reason for increasing of the role of information support of strategic management, what causes some difficulties processing, storaging and using of information. So we should pay special attention to the basic principles of information supporting of strategies. Information is an element of competitiveness and strategic resource, because it is not only an important part of providing administrative process, but also a key factor of production and making of strategic decision. The demand for awareness and practical development of information as a strategic resource and public understanding of the need and possibilities for its use of strategic planning is the most important for the effective operation of strategic planning. The ability to use information as a means to influence the formation and development of information needs, as well as the development of intelligent information systems information support strategies play an important role. The essence of information support the development and implementation of the strategy is not only to overcome the uncertainty by providing strategic planning group of necessary for strategic decision-making data, and to create in the information flow between all actors strategic process to ensure continuous communication between them, to avoid false strategic management solutions and to reduce their effects.
