Development of Modes of Cooperation: An Opportunity for Open Innovation Alliances in Polish Biopharmaceutical Industry

This article presents development of modes of cooperation in biopharmaceutical \nindustry, referring to the latest data from the asap \n(the Association of Strategic Alliance Professionals). Examples \nof different modes of cooperation in contemporary economy as \nwell as potential cooperation between academia, institutions and \nbusiness in the field of biopharmaceutical industry in Poland are \ndiscussed. Biopharmaceutical companies try to implement new \nstrategies to transfer their research processes to a higher level, \noften using open innovation model as an additional tool for developing \nnew products and services. Thanks to the cooperation \nwith universities in the framework of open innovation alliances, \nthrough joint work with academic researchers, biopharmaceutical \ncompanies are more successful in identifying disease mechanisms, \nimplementation of better medical therapy for patients as \nwell as in development of new drugs.
