Values and Expectations of Federal Service Executives

Few studies have systematically investigated the personal values and expectations of senior level administrators in the federal service. A comprehensive survey of the Federal Executive Institute Alumni Association in 1982 provides important insights into the enduring values which guide administrative behavior. Also documented, with data from 1983-84-85 FEIAA survey findings, are perceptions of declining working conditions and morale. How administrators handle ethical dilemmas is also discussed.
