Efficient Screening Methods for the Sampling of Geographically Clustered Special Populations

Special populations for which no complete lists exist require screening, and screening costs may be large if the population is rare. If the population is geographically clustered, costs can be reduced substantially by identifying zero segments quickly. Optimum procedures for screening under alternative data collection methods are discussed.
