A STUDY ON SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT ABILITY OF JIANGSU PROVINCE
研究了江苏省各市可持续发展能力，发现多数地区综合能力偏低，经济中心南京和徐州能力较弱，并提出了产业结构优化、区域协调等政策建议。
Jiangsu, one of the developed provinces in China, has typical problems in sustainable development. Its problems concentrate two aspects. Firstly, the total comprehensive sustainable development ability is low in most areas. Suzhou city, which has the highest score of sustainable development ability, only get 74.98. Scores of 8 cities are lower than 60 points. Secondly, although sustainable development ability is bound up with economic development level to some degree, but economic development is not the all. Nanjing and Xuzhou, two regional economic centers, have weak sustainable development abilities though they own superiority in economic and social development abilities. Policies are put forwarded for Jiangsu's sustainable development, including industrial structure improving, backward areas aiding, population controlling, resources exploiting reasonably, different developmental polices of town and small city for different area, environment protecting and regional coordinate policy.
