EVALUATION OF RAIL TRANSPORT NETWORK WITHIN BEIJING-TIANJIN-HEBEI REGION

Abstract

Under the background of regional integration,appling spatial analysis method to the regional rail research is useful to learn important nodes in the region,and also make some sense to strengthen regional cooperation and rail planning.The paper uses the rail distance of the cities in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region,with the help of Space Syntax Model,we discuss the rationality of rail network planning.Using the number of inter-city trains and Social Network Analysis,social ties between different nodes are evaluated.Conclusion includes:(1) the result of Space Syntax Model shows that the average level of rail connection in this city circle is 3,mean control value is 1.06 and about 85% city above the average depth value 50.The result shows that railways have strong axis to control and interaction,of which Beijing,Tianjin,Langfang,Baoding have relatively low average depth value.(2) The result of Social Network Analysis shows that the main center of railway network is Beijing,Tianjin,Shijiazhuang,the second center is Tangshan,Qinhuangdao,all the other city belong to the 3rd level.The overall density of the network links is 0.673,which shows the close connections.(3) The rail network in this region now has consistency with the development of each city.We should consider industry characteristics of city nodes in planning process of railway network,and further coordinate the relationship between industry development and rail network pattern to achieve the mutual promotion.
