Abstract

Some impacts on the promotion of city accessibility and on urban development of high speed railway stations' location have been the hot topic of scholars at home and abroad. The author systematically calculate the locations of 359 High Speed railway stations in cities, and with document analysis, to study the impacts of high speed railways for different scale cities through three angles contain accessibility, the development around stations, the development of the whole city. The research shows that: Levinson's conclusion about high speed railways' accessibility based on foreign doesn't totally correspond with their counterparts in china, because some medium and small- sized cities do not get the ascension of Absolute Accessibility which is on the contrary of Levinson's conclusion. At the background of industrial transfer and industrial homogeneity, two distinguishing features emerge: high speed railways contribute to the appearance of Modern service industry's space polarization effects in metropolis, however, secondary industry obtains Balanced Development between metropolis, medium and small- sized cities. High speed rail promotes the urban integration of the neighboring metropolis, but it is still in the initial stage of the same city, while the high speed rail also makes the beneficial effects of the medium and small-sized cities around the metropolis.
