Abstract

It is very important to analysis the service areas in the process of planning and management of public facility,GIS as an integrated problem analysis environment provide most useful tools to study the facility location.In this paper,the author proposed an approach to analysis facility service areas,named gravity polygon,which is based Reilly's model and Huff's model,constructed by geography spatial interaction theory.The model was integrated in MapInfo GIS,and the GIS based facility service areas-gravity polygon algorithm-was detailed described in the article.In the final,this service areas analysis method was applied to public health care in Pudong New Area of Shanghai,which reveal some very important results.
