RESEARCH PROGRESS ON INDUSTRIAL GEOGRAPHY
回顾了工业地理学的研究进展，指出其理论从传统区位理论转向新经济地理学、文化转向和制度转向，实证研究也发现影响产业分布的因素从自然资源和交通转向网络、嵌入性、学习、创新和劳动力市场等新因素。
Industrial geography has been primarily concerned with the location of industrial firms.Research on industrial geography has an important meaning regarding the guidance on industrial distribution and the promotion of industrial development.This paper reviews the research progress on industrial geography,points out the weakness in the theoretical and empirical researches,and prospects main topics in the future.Our study shows that industrial geography focuses on industrial spatial pattern and the factors affecting the industrial distribution.Theories on industrial geography has changed from traditional location theory to ‘new economic geography’ theory,and then to ‘cultural turn’ and ‘institutional turn’,while the empirical research shows that factors affecting industrial spatial distribution have changed a lot as well,with the decreasing role of traditional factors like natural resources and transportation and an increase of the role of a number of new factors,such as networks,embeddedness,learning,innovation and labour market and so on.However,domestic theoretical research and approach are still insufficient and the research system is still unformed.The role of cultural and institutional factors should be strengthened in the future.
