Solutions to the Problem of "Short-lived Building":Thoughts and Actions on Both the Levels of Building and Its Social and Economic Environment

Through the detailed investigation of 35 well-known short-lived buildings,it reveals there are three main characteristics about this phenomenon.First,it is very pronounced and the public-invested buildings are the majority.Second,this phenomenon exists in developed cities both in the developed coastal regions and inland underdeveloped regions and it seems that some of the more economically developed cities have entered the large-scale urban renewal stages.Third,the dominant incentive to this phenomenon is socio-economic and the itself was not the main one.Therefore to resolve the problem of short-lived building should take actions both on the levels of the external socio-economic environment of the and the itself.
