Energy Conservation Potential in China's Industry and the Influencing Factors
用随机前沿模型分析中国工业的节能潜力，发现1994年以来能源投入低效率下降，所有制结构和对外开放显著影响低效率，重工业是节能潜力主要来源。
The literatures on the effective energy conservation potential have been limited.To fill the gap,this paper establishes a stochastic frontier model,taking energy input with frontier technology as benchmark,to analyze the industrial energy conservation potential and the influencing factors in China.It is found that the inefficiency in industrial energy input has been decreased since 1994,the ownership structure and the openness both significantly affect the inefficiencies,and the heavy industry constitutes largely the conservation potential.In terms of excessive inputs relative to the frontier,the industrial conservation potential is huge and should be realized by improving technical efficiency.
