Spatial Organization Process and Mode of Shanghai City during Crossing the Huangpu River Expansion
利用遥感和GIS方法,分析了上海跨黄浦江扩展的空间组织过程,揭示了六个阶段和不同模式,为其他跨江城市提供理论指导。
Trans-river expansion of riverside cities has the important practical significance on the optimization of spatial structure and industrial structure of the cities. Applying RS, GIS and the mathematical statistics method, this paper is to analyze spatial organization process and spatial organization mode of Shanghai city trans- river expansion and to reveal the dominant factors and interaction mechanism that influences the spatial organization. Studies have shown that: 1Trans- river expansion of Shanghai city started in opened port, mainly in the 1990 s. 2 Trans- river expansion spatial organization process of Shanghai city has experienced six spatial organization stages-- discrete pattern, ribbon pattern, weak diffusion type, strong diffusion type, equilibrium type and reconstruction type. During different stages, there are many differences of its expansion way, spatial form and the urban function.3On the spatial organization mode, it takes integrated framework on both sides of Huangpu river from the perspective of the whole Shanghai. It is mainly reflected on the organization of the city CBD, layout of the city development axis and traffic organization of both sides. From the perspective of Pudong, the spatial organization mode presents multi- core groups around the four national development zones and the main towns. 4 The spatial organization of trans- river expansion of Shanghai is an interactive process between self- organization and other organizations. The early period of the trans- river expansion is the result of selforganization and it has a strong attribute of path-dependence. During the strong diffusion stage, institutional innovations and globalization are the most important factors that influence the spatial organization. In the equilibrium stage, market mechanism is playing an important role. This study can provide theoretical guidance and learning experience for other trans-river expansion cities.
