Based on the analysis of the historical evolution of the implications of modernization, the urban modernization indicator system is composed of the key points of industrialization, marketization, knowledgization, informatization, internationalization, urbanization and sustainable development, and divided into six sub systems and forty indicators, among which ten indicators that could more accurately reflect the level and direction of urban modernization are selected as appraisal indicators.
